No worries! <3 Not sure if you've seen it but you should totally check out this person's generator for portraits, they fit the style for the rest of the game: https://jazzybee.itch.io/sdvcharactercreator
That's weird, does it do that in every browser? I will be working on releasing a desktop version eventually for people who prefer that anyway so hopefully that won't be an issue anymore.
This is an extraordinary project and it's being developed just so so well. I hope to see updates with more usual clothes or hairs, etc. You could benefit from asking for the help of other designers/using copyright assets the size of this (if they exist) and implementing them here. I know you're mainly focused on fantasy, but this idea has the potential of becoming a new, very powerful character generator for all kinds of games. Keep it up!
Thanks for the encouragement! <3 I'm actually right in the middle of working on an update for the generator with more modular clothing and armours, hopefully a mix of fantasy and modern, with better hairstyles and facial features. :D
That's good to know, thanks for the report! I'll be working on a downloadable version asap, hopefully with some new assets. :D
It may not be visible on your laptop if everything on the right is being blocked by itch's buttons, but you can try seeing if there's a very faint fullscreen button in the bottom right which might help! <3
Hmmmm.. is a save and load feature planned? Also.. What is your opinion on making sprites off of pre existing stuff, sort them into generator parts and updating this generator with those parts? That way you can get more style ideas and give fanart to things you like! I mean.. Or i could just be saying something really dumb..
I love this tool! I hope you keep adding to it. I'll give what I can to support. If i could suggest just one thing; a way to remove the shadow would be appreciated (since lots of engines have their own shadows for sprites)
Great tool!! I love it. I don't understand why isn't this the first thing to pop up when searching for "character sprite generator pixel art". It's awesome. Thank you for creating this and for releasing it free ^^
The 'save sprite' button doesn't seem to work most of the time? I managed to get it to work once, after trying several times, but now it won't work again. The 'save face' button works fine though.
Edit: finally got it to work again, maybe I just need to leave it for a while and then try again for it to work??
Edit 2: the button works fine if I put the character creator in full screen :)
This tool is very cool! I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it
Dear @Caz, I said that already via the rating comment, but I said it again: another awesome stuff from you. You never fail! I absolutely love it! So happy that you included special poses like "holding something" for games like Stardew Valley or so on... Also there is also facesets and you can adjust colours. Wow, just wow. I am looking forward to the future updates of this generator, because it is so good and the characters looks lovely (I don't really like the short chibi one from RM itself).
Ps. Shouldn't the random character button say "Randomize" instead of "Randomise"? Does it matter? I am not fluent in English but I saw it was always with "z".
No idea about the first bit but Randomise is English (UK) and Randomize is English (USA). You'll notice that in many words with that sound, eg. realise/realize etc

Hello, this is a very interesting tool, can i use in engines other than RPG Maker ? Like RPG Architect or RPG Bakin ?
Hi! The assets made in the tool are engine-free, you can use them for anything. :D
Will there ever be more body types, like shorter variations?
Eventually yes, there will be different bodies!
very cool!
edit: I give to you 1$
Thanks so much for the support, I really appreciate it! <3
💓
cool
would i be able to use this comercially for a game im making if i give credit?
Yes the assets are free for commercial use! There's a full EULA here
Thanks!
Can I use that tool to create a mod for the Stardew Valley game?
Yes absolutely! The assets are engine-free and can be used for whatever you like. :D
oh, I appreciate it, I've been looking for a tool to create portraits for my stardew valley npc mods for a long time.
No worries! <3 Not sure if you've seen it but you should totally check out this person's generator for portraits, they fit the style for the rest of the game: https://jazzybee.itch.io/sdvcharactercreator
No, I hadn't seen it, thanks, I'll try it.
Are these sprites just for MZ? i was looking at the Vs8 movement plugin and seen none for MV
The VS8 movement only works natively if you're using the MZ plugin, but the sprites themselves can be used in any engine.
Error appears, cannot be started in the browser, this error appears: "Failed to initialize graphics

I just tried it, it only happens with Google Chrome, nothing else.
I love this tool! Can't wait for the update :)
Always looking for a good char generator tool.
Hopefully we'll see an update.
Can't agree more!
This is definitely something that I'll use for my projects, can't wait for the next version, you're doing some great stuff! :)

this is so awsome, Is there an offline downloadable version?
Thank you! <3 I'm working on a huge overhaul of everything right now, but the next big release will include a downloadable version. :D
Very useful! Thank you!

That's awesome! Can't wait to hear back
Very cool! A downloadable version would be nice. On my laptop the buttons on the right are blocked by the itch buttons, unless i zoom out a lot.
That's good to know, thanks for the report! I'll be working on a downloadable version asap, hopefully with some new assets. :D

This is pretty good. Hopefully you open it so other artists can add to the tool.
hey can you make a platformar character generator for us please
Fantastic creation, is the plan to start with the default characters?
Thanks Holder! <3 I'm going to eventually try to add as many of the RTP outfits as I can!
thank you for this Caz! it's an amazing tool! I can definitely use this.
Will it eventually make female sprites too?
The latest update added female sprites yes! You can swap to the new body type by clicking the arrows next to "Body" :D
Can you make a downloadable version?
I am planning to eventually release a standalone version for Windows once more content is available, yes! :D
i want for example linux version...
Love it, can't wait to see more!
Can't wait to see this mature!
I get "Error
Failed to initialize graphics."
I'm on PC, microsoft edge browser :(
Hey, thanks for the report! Have you tried another browser?
Sorry my response is so late to this
I tried Chrome and initially got the same message, but I turned on hardware acceleration and now I get "Error: No available storage method found."
So i went back to edge and turned on hardware acceleration and it works! so that's something!

This is looking very cool so far! Do you have plans to add SV battlers?
Thank you! Eventually yes, I hope I can add SV assets!
Awesome, looking forward to it!

Hi, what device are you using please?

Thanks so much Fizzly! Haha, it's UK English so we use S in some words instead of Z.
